Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded on Thursday, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's success, the skilled performers also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Performer for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved 7 awards during the ceremony.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Premier PC Title. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only 4 awards—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—determined by reviewers.
