Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet ferrying Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The plane landed following standard procedures and all passengers, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This event is not the first time that a American defense plane ferrying a top government figure has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was compelled to turn back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
