Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Power Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in providing protection systems and applying restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

The strikes come after evenings of air raids in the territory, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
